1️ What services does Insurance by BankPay provide? +

Insurance by BankPay provides a digital payment platform that facilitates insurance premium payments for existing insurance policies issued by IRDAI-registered insurance companies.

We enable customers to pay their insurance premiums securely online through BBPS and RBI-authorized payment gateways.

2️ Does BankPay sell insurance policies? +

No.

BankPay does not sell, issue, underwrite, or recommend insurance policies. We are not an insurance company, broker, corporate agent, or web aggregator.

Our role is strictly limited to premium payment facilitation.

3️ Can I buy a new insurance policy on this website? +

No.

This website is only for paying premiums of existing insurance policies. New policy purchase, plan selection, or insurance comparison services are not offered.

4️ Which types of insurance premiums can I pay? +

You can pay premiums for the following existing policy types, subject to BBPS and insurer availability:

  • Life Insurance
  • Health Insurance
  • Motor Insurance (Car & Two-Wheeler)
  • General Insurance
  • Travel Insurance

All policies must be issued by IRDAI-registered insurers.

5️ How does the premium payment process work? +

The premium payment process is simple:

  3. Verify the payable premium amount
  4. Complete the secure online payment
  5. Receive payment acknowledgment

Final policy update and premium credit confirmation are subject to insurer processing.

6️ Is BankPay authorized to collect insurance premiums? +

Yes.

Insurance premium payments on BankPay are facilitated through BBPS (Bharat Bill Payment System), an RBI-mandated bill payment framework, along with authorized payment gateway partners.

7️ Does payment confirmation mean my policy is renewed? +

Not necessarily.

BankPay provides payment confirmation only. Policy renewal or premium credit confirmation is subject to insurance company validation and processing.

8️ Who is responsible for policy coverage, benefits, and claims? +

The insurance company is solely responsible for:

  • Policy coverage
  • Benefits
  • Claims
  • Endorsements
  • Policy servicing

BankPay has no role in claims or coverage decisions.

9️ What happens if my payment fails or is debited without confirmation? +

If a payment:

  • Fails, or
  • Is debited but confirmation is not received

The amount will be:

  • Automatically reversed by the payment gateway or
  • Refunded as per bank timelines (usually 5-7 working days)
10 Can I get a refund after a successful premium payment? +

Refunds for successful premium payments are not handled by BankPay.

Refunds, cancellations, or adjustments (if applicable) are governed by:

  • The respective insurance company's policy terms
  • Applicable BBPS and regulatory guidelines
11 What if I entered incorrect policy details? +

Payments made with:

  • Incorrect policy number
  • Incorrect insurer selection
  • Incorrect customer information

may result in failed or misdirected transactions. BankPay is not responsible for such errors, and refunds may not be possible.

12 Does BankPay store my card or bank details? +

No.

BankPay does not store:

  • Card details
  • UPI credentials
  • Bank account information

All payments are processed securely through RBI-authorized payment gateways.

13 Is my personal data safe on BankPay? +

Yes.

BankPay uses:

  • SSL encryption

14 Does BankPay charge any additional fees? +
